Latin America's Top Music and Podcasts Apps Q3 2022 Performance

In the third quarter of 2022, Latin America's music and podcasts applications showed varying trends in downloads and active users. Data from Sensor Tower provides us with a closer look at the performance of the top 5 applications in this category.

YouTube Music saw a steady increase in downloads, peaking at around 303k in late August before slightly dropping to around 270k by the end of September. Weekly active users also experienced growth, starting at around 57 million in late June and reaching around 61 million by the end of September.

Deezer: Music Player, Podcast showed a more varied download trend, with numbers fluctuating between 105k and 132k. The weekly active users for Deezer declined over the quarter, starting at around 6.7 million and falling to approximately 6.2 million.

The performance of Everand: Ebooks and audiobooks was more modest in downloads, with a slight increase from around 14k in mid-July to nearly 20k by the end of September. Its active users experienced a decline from approximately 244k to 194k over the same period.

Sueñovela had the smallest number of downloads among the top 5, with a decrease from nearly 3k at the end of June to just under 2k by late September. Weekly active users saw a consistent decline from around 132k to 96k.

Lastly, Spotify - Music and Podcasts dominated in both downloads and active users. Downloads reached their peak at over 1.45 million in mid-September, while active users saw a steady increase from around 88 million to over 91 million by mid-September, ending the quarter at around 90 million.
